The Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) and the UAE Ministry of Economy have officially unveiled the Dubai Intellectual Property Hub (DIPH), marking the UAE’s first centralized platform dedicated to intellectual property (IP) and intangible assets (IA).
Collaboration for a Vibrant Ecosystem
The launch was celebrated with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by key officials, including Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, and Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of DFF. Under the MoU, the Ministry of Economy will integrate its IA registration feature into the DIPH, creating a streamlined process for users.
Minister Al Marri emphasized the UAE’s commitment to fostering an environment that nurtures innovation and creative businesses. He noted that the hub is a significant step towards reinforcing intellectual property protections within the UAE, aligning with the nation’s “We the UAE 2031” vision, which aims to position the country as a global leader in the new economy.
Empowering Entrepreneurs and Innovators
The DIPH will serve a wide array of professionals, including those in creative design, health, education, and sustainability. Khalfan Belhoul remarked that the hub is designed to provide essential resources and information for entrepreneurs looking to secure and commercialize their innovations. He highlighted the collaboration with the Ministry of Economy as a key factor in advancing the UAE’s legislative framework to support economic growth.
Digital Solutions for Seamless Access
Focusing on four main pillars, the DIPH will offer a user-friendly digital interface that centralizes guidelines for registering all types of intellectual property. Users can expect comprehensive information on IP protection, commercial exploitation, and strategic development tools—all accessible through a single platform.
As Dubai continues to enhance its position as a global hub for innovation, the launch of the DIPH is expected to play a vital role in supporting the region’s entrepreneurs and driving economic growth.
