From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leadership
Felix’s journey to Industrial Engineering was not a conventional one. Like many students, he didn’t choose the field initially but was drawn to it through a scholarship opportunity at Batangas State University – The National Engineering University. While Felix once aspired to be a university educator, this unexpected path led him to embrace Engineering, particularly Industrial Engineering, as a life-changing opportunity.
Reflecting on this decision, Felix emphasizes how what seemed like an unplanned turn turned out to be one of the greatest blessings, enabling him to contribute meaningfully to industries and processes. As he recognized the potential of Industrial Engineers to drive innovation and efficiency, he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the discipline, becoming a passionate advocate for its development in the Philippines.
Diverse Roles and Growing Impact
Felix’s career journey spans a rich spectrum of roles and achievements. Beginning in 2011 as an Industrial Engineering Lecturer at Batangas State University, he imparted expertise in subjects like Probability and Statistics, Production Systems, Industrial Quality Control, Supply Chain Management, and Lean Six Sigma.
He later ventured into industry, taking on progressively impactful roles. From 2011 to 2013, he worked with San Miguel Brewery Inc. as a Logistics Assistant and later as a Logistics Coordinator, managing operations across several regions.
In 2013, Felix co-founded the IExcel CIE Review Center, which nurtures aspiring Certified Industrial Engineers. During a medical rest period in 2015, he authored his first book, published by Bookboon Ltd., marking his foray into international contributions.
Between 2015 and 2019, Felix excelled at HGST Philippines Corp., first as a Process Excellence Black Belt Engineer, driving productivity and quality enhancements, and then as Process Excellence Manager, where he established global productivity standards.
Pioneering Lifelong Learning and Innovation
In 2016, Felix founded Ask Lex PH Academy, a lifelong learning platform that has certified over 25,000 individuals worldwide in areas such as Industrial Engineering Innovation, Sustainability, Analytics, and Continuous Improvement. Simultaneously, he became a columnist at The Philippine Business and News, contributing articles on professional growth.
His entrepreneurial endeavors expanded with the launch of Farm Box PH and TUOS, pioneering cloud-based data analytics platforms in agriculture and technology. In 2023, Felix began coaching micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in sustainability practices as an ASEAN Sustainable Business Coach, while also joining the Board of Trustees at the Philippine Society for Quality Foundation.
In 2024, Felix co-founded Connect the Dads, a platform addressing Paternal Perinatal Depression (PPND) through community support. He continues to serve as a Productivity & Quality Consultant for the International Trade Center, assisting MSMEs in the Philippines.
